Uganda Certificate of Examinations start

Senior four candidates around the country today started their 2018 Universal Certificate of Examinations (UCE) with a briefing at their respective centers.

In Ocer Campion Jesuit College, briefing began at exactly 9 am and ended at 12 noon. The briefing session was carried out by teachers, head teacher in the company of the chief examination invigilator from the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).

During briefing today, candidates were reminded and cautioned about the UNEB rules some of which include; not to indulge in any form of examination malpractice such as carrying illegal materials into examination room. Candidates are barred from carrying mobile phones, should go to the toilets before entering the examination halls, and appear at the examination halls 30 minutes before the allocated start of the examination among others.

The Director of Studies, Mr. Ham Tugume urged the students to do their best in the exams as their predecessors have already done their part of putting Ocer on record as the best in the whole district.

The Head of Science Department guided the students on the proper procedure of carrying out science practicals. “Clean the apparatus to be used and wipe water off the tables as you will use the same table when recording your findings,” he emphasized.

The Head teacher Fr. John Chachu advised the students to take good care of themselves, eat well and have enough rest.

The students in turn asked questions which were duly answered by the chief invigilator.

The briefing climaxed with a prayer for the candidates from the Head teacher, Fr. John Chachu.

This year Ocer has registered 80 students for UCE National examinations, the highest number in the school’s history.
