Jesuit education has always and everywhere integrated Jesuitic values into the wholeness formation of all its members. It is a prerequisite that those who undergo Jesuit education be versed with Ignatian values of academic, spiritual and human growth. Campus Ministry is therefore a necessary tool through which this objective is realized. The main goal of Campus Ministry is to set structures and implement activities that help the students and collaborators to be fully engaged in all aspects of their formation.
Campus Ministry fosters the spiritual lives of students and collaborators acknowledging that engagement with faith is integral to developing whole persons inspired to build a more humane and fair world. Rooted in our Ocerian tradition, Campus Ministry cultivates the faith life of the school community through transformative encounters with God. We foster spiritual growth through worship, spiritual care, faith formation, community service, guidance, counselling and reflection. Committed to peace and justice, we challenge students to develop their unique gifts in service to the world and to be leaders who care for human dignity through building faith-filled communities. These activities of Campus Ministry are not limited to the student community but also includes teachers, administrators and collaborators.
While our Catholic character informs our role as educators in faith, we minister to and with peoples of all faiths. Through the formation of heart and mind, in the Ignatian tradition, we hope to inspire both personal and communal transformation. Such transformation invites all people into the right relationship with self, others and God. These relationships are expressed through Ignatian spirituality, community service and social interaction for the greater glory of God and service to humanity.
We believe Ocer Jesuit College will become a community where every individual will encounter our loving God, discover one’s calling and claim a role in restoring all of creation.
