How to Donate

Prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Dear Lord, teach me to be generous;
Teach me to serve you as You deserve;
To give and not to count the cost,
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
To toil and not to seek for rest,
To labor and not to ask for reward
Save that of knowing
I am doing your will.

Roger Ocan heads the family that so generously provided the land for the construction of Ocer Campion Jesuit College.

The Plan

The Abononi Okumu family at their home. They gave 98 acres of land for the school.
A local family in Gulu gave 98.5 acres of land for this dream. Why so much? Because this is a long-range vision. In the coming years, the Society of Jesus plans to build the first Jesuit secondary school in Uganda. This boarding school, drawing students from the entire region, will accommodate 1,200 boys and girls. This “comprehensive” educational complex will foster both liberal arts and vocational schooling to promote self-reliance as well as respect for the manual arts and the related trades. The primary constituent group for students will be bright, but disadvantaged, youth. So, there is a fundamental need for both financial subsidies and a pre-secondary year for orientation, remedial education, and trauma counseling. Agriculture, the main economic resource in the area, will be a required subject of study and practical work experience. It will also help offset expenses.The project includes faculty housing either on or near the campus, including a Jesuit residence and two convents for sisters. The entire physical plant will include well-built facilities and a beautiful campus that is both environmentally and culturally sensitive.
